Happy Yoga Month!By HITCH on September 1, 2010 in Healthy Living
September is National Yoga Month and between wrapping up a high-energy summer and back to school stress, most of us could use a little decompression time. However, it’s not just about relaxation and meditation. Due to yoga’s recent explosion in popularity, studios and gyms are offering a variety of practice philosophies and techniques – most of which will turn even the most fit athlete into a puddle of sweat on the mat.
That’s not an exaggeration. Yoga is no joke.
No matter how you choose to practice, yoga is an unbelievable workout for the mind, body and soul and a great alternative to pounding it out on the treadmill this winter. Seriously, show me a gym machine that can help you:
- Learn to deal with stress (breathe, baby, breathe!)
- Fix muscle imbalances
- Improve your flexibility
- Build strength
- Detoxify and rejuvenate muscle tissue
- Get you a hot bod
- Teach you cool party tricks
- Make working out indoors fun
Isn’t it time you gave the mat a go? To help out with your yogic exploration check out these two great resources and then find your flow with Moji’s Ultimate Yoga Playlist:
