After a five-year bike racing career in Northern California, Anne Stein earned a master’s degree at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, worked as a newspaper reporter, then went on to be managing editor at Inside Triathlon Magazine. She’s currently a freelance journalist based in Chicago specializing in health, sports and fitness. Besides her work for Gomoji.com, she writes for the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Bulls, Chicago Blackhawks, MSNBC.com, and has written for numerous other publications, including ESPN, Sports Illustrated for Women, People and The Christian Science Monitor. Anne’s edited three books: Heartrate Training for Cyclists (by Sally Edwards and Sally Reed); Complete Guide to Sports Nutrition (by Monique Ryan) and Triathlon, A Personal History (by Scott Tinley). She’s married to Drew Surinsky, a triathlon-swim coach and exercise physiologist.
