Question:
If a student gets an injury on a Friday, iced and says they iced over the weekend, but comes back to school Monday with a hot still swollen ankle. Should it be iced?
Answer:
Ice use is important in reducing inflammation, bleeding, swelling, and pain that accompanies ankle injuries. Icing for 20 minutes multiple times a day is important for not only the day of the injury but also the subsequent days following an injury.
