MOJI OVERVIEW
The majority of injuries in skiing are sprains, followed by fractures and lacerations and dislocations. Though ski equipment improvements have helped reduce ski injuries, there are still a significant number of such injuries. Initial first aid for injuries consists of the RICE protocol: Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. ACSM recommends injuries be promptly evaluated and treated by appropriate medical personnel.
