Gretchen Reynolds of The New York Times discusses research recently published in The British Journal of Sports Medicine that explores why certain skiers get injured more frequently than others. The research entailed tracking over 1,200 skiers in the Swiss Alps, both those who had been treated at a local trauma center and those who had not been treated. The findings indicate that there are numerous factors that contribute to the likelihood of ski injuries. Fortunately, these contributing factors can be mitigated with proper preparation and training.
