How exactly does reducing flow of blood, speed of pain signals, and cell energy consumption decrease recovery time. What, when icing is applied, increases the healing of damaged cell tissues? Are you suggesting that simply by reducing the energy consumption by damaged cells fewer cells will die completely and need to be removed by the blood and lymph? <br>Forgive me but I still don't see how icing creates a better healing environment to the natural process of the body. Also, why is it necessary to shorten healing time in most normal or common injuries, outside of perhaps professional athletes who are interested in winning above healing?
