Win a FREE Moji Knee!

Thank you for all of the amazing posts. We laughed, we cried…we got inspired to put down that bag of excuses and get in some more mileage. Congratulation to Romeo V. for winning our random drawing!

The background

So, you’ve read our post on The Out-and-Backer’s Dilemma

[pause for you to click over and give it a look]

So, you’ve skimmed our post on The Out-and Backer’s Dilemma. If you are anything like us, you’ve already started thinking about exactly how far you have traveled in this lifetime.

Well, think out loud. Post your Total Lifetime Mileage (TLM) as a comment below to be entered into a chance to win a FREE Moji Knee. The winner will be picked at random, so no need to inflate those totals. We strongly encourage creative (yet appropriate) supporting stats.

The prize

Winner will receive a FREE Moji Knee. (We don’t know why one must capitalize ‘free’ all the time – it seems to be giveaway industry standards.)

The instructions

  1. Calculate your Total Lifetime Mileage (TLM) whether it be on foot, on bike or on cross country skis.
  2. Leave a comment below with your TLM stats, your name, and any fun supporting details.
  3. Check back here on July 31st to see if you’re the winner!

Hitch
4,000 TLM (3,000 running, 1,000 cycling)

  • This would rock, I have fluid under the knee!

Um, let's see- lifetime? That's hard? I'm shooting in the dark- I do 3 miles a day just running/walking. I'm GUESSING I've done over 5k miles doing just that alone over the years.
I 'learned' why I was in more pain than others running the hard way- I'm a type to push my limits & always thought MY pain must not be worse than others doing the same thing. Until, I joined the services & went through basic training where I was pitted with a team all holding about a foot in height on me, making every march- a running sprint for me, and each run, a race to the end for my knee. I finally wound up having military docs force me to put on a brace to continue or drop out. No WAY was I going to let myself get bootted from this, so- after multiple doctors visits I managed to STILL finish with my group, with 2 swollen knees & the knowledge that military biscuits are not what my mom makes because they chipped my tooth & the repair made my face swell as well. I may have been in great shape, but- with nearly all of me swollen from doctors, nobody would have noticed anything but the added weight from swelling!

TLM post divorce! I'll go back only three years when I started running consistently. 100 a month for three years puts me around 3,600. Throw in multiple races and marathon, so I'll round to ~4,000.

User too busy running to answer.

TLM will be equal to or greater than infinity before user will be sedentary long enough to calculate TLM.

    :)

1,000 TLM Hiking (how far around exactly IS middle earth aka New Zealand?)

Hundreds of feet worth of climbing up and down rock walls.

    What a super cool idea!

So, I left out my seven years of competitive swimming and just did from college forward (so, 11 years). I trained for marathons and half-marathons in that time, but I figured I should just do averages and it evens out. I also left out miscellaneous gym activities. Here's what I got:

10 years of running an average of 25 miles a week: 13,000 miles
1 year of running an average of 50 miles a week (I have stepped it up this year): 2,600
7 years of cycling an average of 80 miles a week: 29,120
    TLM: 44,720

Wow. Now I am actually curious to keep a diary and start tracking it!

    Mmmm... math.

~10,000 TLM biking (~5000 over the last two years after getting back into it plus all the riding I did as a kid and teenager).

Not a big runner, but probably a bunch walking everywhere.

Shame I can't count frequent flier miles...
